Post-Surgical Rehabilitation & Prehabilitation at Flow State Physio

At Flow State Physio, we provide personalised physiotherapy before and after surgery to help you prepare for your procedure, recover safely and return to the activities that matter to you. Whether you are preparing for surgery or progressing through rehabilitation afterwards, we provide clear guidance and a structured programme tailored to your individual needs.

Prehabilitation (prehab) before surgery can be an important part of the recovery process. Where appropriate, we can help you prepare by improving strength, mobility, fitness and confidence before your procedure. Prehab can be particularly beneficial before total hip replacement, total knee replacement, ACL surgery, rotator cuff repair, spinal surgery and other orthopaedic procedures, helping you understand what to expect and giving you a head start with your rehabilitation.

Following surgery, we provide rehabilitation for a wide range of procedures, including rotator cuff repair, ACL surgery, spinal surgery, shoulder stabilisation surgery, total hip replacement and total knee replacement. We also work with patients following meniscal surgery, knee ligament reconstruction, Achilles tendon repair, fracture fixation, tendon repairs and other joint replacement and orthopaedic procedures.

Every rehabilitation programme is tailored to your surgery, stage of recovery and personal goals. We work within the guidance provided by your surgeon while progressively restoring mobility, strength, stability, balance and function.

Following a total hip or total knee replacement, rehabilitation may focus on restoring joint movement, rebuilding strength, improving walking and balance, and gradually increasing your ability to manage everyday activities and exercise. Following ACL surgery, rehabilitation can progress from restoring knee movement and strength through to running, jumping and sport-specific preparation.

For athletes, we can also provide structured return-to-sport programmes, helping bridge the gap between rehabilitation and a safe return to training and competition.

With 10 years of experience working with athletes and active individuals, Flow State Physio provides expert, progressive and goal-focused rehabilitation throughout your surgical journey.
